Sakho back tomorrow!
Well could be.......

avid Gold has confirmed that Diafra Sakho is back in the selection frame for the Irons.

ClaretandHugh revealed exclusively a few hours ago that the striker had an outside chance of making the bench for tomorrow’s fourth round FA Cup clash at Ashton Gate adding that next week’s match against Liverpool at Anfield was a real target.

And the co chairman has confirmed that is the case in responding to a follower who asked if there was “any truth” in the story.

Gold declared: “I am hopeful he will be available for selection against Liverpool.”

A source told us: “There remains a small chance he’ll make the bench tomorrow. He has recovered quicker than expected.”

I don't understand that ruling.
Does that mean no Senegalese player can play professional football while they are in the tournament?
They were entitled to pick him and wait for him to be fit but didn't.

However, if Sakho makes a quick recovery West Ham have been warned they could be stopped from playing Sakho until Senegal are out of the Africa Cup of Nations due to FIFA rules.

Senegal head coach Alain Giresse said: "If they don't want Sakho to come so they can play him, they are wrong. he doesn't have the right."

Not a FIFA rule then RH?? That's ok ... play him then...

Re: Sakho back tomorrow!
Looking at the FIFA rules, from what I can see there's a 14 day period where he can't play? In the same as for qualifiers when there's a five day period. Dunno when that 14 day period starts though, from when he's called up or the start of the tournament?

f) Final competitions
In accordance with Article 36 Paragraphs 2b) and 5c), if a player is called up, he must be released to play in the final competition organised by FIFA or a confederation and held in a period fixed/set in the calendar. In this event, the period of release shall be 14 days.
